Last week I had the privilege of again hosting two students from the Akilah Institute for Women in Rwanda. Akilah is an organization about which I am deeply passionate. It is a college for young women in East Africa that “offers a unique model of market-relevant education empowering graduates for success in careers and leadership roles.”
By focusing on gratitude, leaders can “immunize” themselves from the impact of challenging circumstances. Commit to making gratitude a part of daily life.
While there is sometimes a desire to stand out and showcase what an individual can do, the strength of “a cappella” comes in the singers’ abilities to blend their voices, rather than to showcase any one voice.
A recent example of how this worked for a client is when Mike had difficulty connecting his “thinking” to his “feelings,” he used a specific breath practice. This allowed him to experience the multitude of sensations in his body that could guide and direct him to what really mattered.
